When I first moved to the area, I was told this was THE dog park in Delaware to visit. And it is quite understandable why so many people like it. First of all it is located in the state park, so naturally it’s pretty. Secondly, it’s shaded, has water, and is a fairly well visited park.
This is definitely the best dog park in Delaware in the Newark/Bear area and if you live in this area you need to check this park out. It has a sandy beach area for the dogs to swim and a grassy area near the beach for your doggo to run around. There is a trail that runs through the dog park that you can take an off leash stroll on, and it is marked where the off leash area begins and ends.
The dog park has a separate entrance from the main park, and is easy to get to this entrance using google maps. Although not clearly marked at the park itself, the parking is free if you only use the dog park only. If you are using the rest of the park from here, then you are expected to pay.
